like Jenna Jamison?!
“We’re going to Fiji. We’re gonna get naked and just run in the surf and try to have a baby.”
- Jenna Jameson tells Life & Style about her Valentine’s Day plans with her boyfriend, UFC fighter Tito Ortiz
Hey, at least if they do have a baby she won't feel anything.
I'm sorry but it just had to be said.
Attention all MMA fighters....
Given the HUGE difference in payouts may I suggest going union?
Make the corporate monkeys nut up and have some sort of range for
everyone. It makes me sick that Brock Lesnar was able to pocket
$250,000 even with his LOSS! Poor Frank Mir only walked away with
$80,000?
I know there's something to be said about bragging rights, a bent ego and losing your pride. I guess somethings money can't buy.
Here's the payout for UFC 81 per MMAJunkie.
* Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira ($200,000) def. Tim Sylvia ($100,000)
* Frank Mir ($80,000) def. Brock Lesnar ($250,000)
* Nate Marquardt ($52,000) def. Jeremy Horn ($25,000)
* Ricardo Almeida ($40,000) def. Rob Yundt ($5,000)
* Tyson Griffin ($36,000) def. Gleison Tibau ($11,000)
* Chris Lytle ($24,000) def. Kyle Bradley ($4,O00)
* Tim Boetsch ($12,000) def. David Heath ($6,000)
* Marvin Eastman ($14,000) def. Terry Martin ($12,000)
* Rob Emerson ($16,000) def. Keita Nakamura ($5,000)
All the winning fighters received pay that awarded 50 percent "to
show" and 50 percent as a "win bonus" — except for Lesnar, who would
have earned a $200,000 win bonus.
Here are my predictions for 2008.

Happy New Year Ya'll!
I have some terrible news.
Today, UFC ring girl Ali Sonoma announced that she's leaving the UFC
Sonoma, who’s been a working model for the past seven years, says she wants to pursue an acting career.
As Sonoma explained:
“I am no longer a ring girl for UFC. I am proud to say I am moving up to bigger and better things. There is always a time when you get comfortable at a job. You seem to lose focus on what your main goal is. I guess I got a little comfortable myself, of course, I loved the fights, loved the experience, but my real dream is to actually speak on camera, to act, not just shake my booty for the crowd. (Even though it was a lot of fun while it lasted and I met some amazing people.)“
Sonoma says she found her way into the UFC through a Maxim “Hometown Hotties” contest in which 10 finalists competed for a UFC ring-girl job. Despite finishing second, Sonoma still got the job.
Back in August, MMAjunkie.com
(www.mmajunkie.com) reported that Sonoma and “The Ultimate Fighter”
champ and current UFC welterweight Diego Sanchez, who met during past
UFC events, had gotten engaged. When asked for comment, though, Sonoma politely said she preferred to keep the matter private.
**Don't say I never give you any news!**
Matt Hughes is STILL a douche-bag. I'll be elaborating on this later.
So, given that Matt Serra is the best-all-time-coach, he has 6 of his fighters in the finals and Matt Hughes only having 2 (because he's the worst-coach-of-all-time).
They asked the guys who they wanted to fight and why. Turned out they got their wishes.
The down side to everything is two of Serra's team members will need to have Hughes in their corner given Serra can't be in both corners. He felt bad about picking the two guys that would be "stuck" with Hughes and his dismal coaching skillz. So they flipped a coin. Richie and Matt were the losers....
Richie and Matt took the higher road (IMHO) and actually asked to meet with Hughes and his coaches to clear the air. I think what they really wanted was to get more comfortable with Hughes. And how does he act? Well, it shouldn't come as any surprise but he was a smug dickwad. Had such a chip on his shoulder, you'd think he had lost most of the previous fights. ha ha!
The match ups will look like this:
- 1st — Mac Danzig (Team Hughes) vs. John Kolosci (Team Serra)
- 2nd — Matt Arroyo (Team Serra) vs. Troy Mandaloniz (Team Serra)
- 3rd — George Sotiropoulos (Team Serra) vs. Richie Hightower (Team Serra)
- 4th — Tommy Speer (Team Hughes) vs. Ben Saunders (Team Serra)
Soon, it’s fight time, and 27-year-old Mac (17-4-1) and 32-year-old John (8-4) make their ways to the ring for the show’s first quarterfinal match.
Round one is underway, and after a sporadic exchange of kicks, Mac ties up John and lands a knee to the gut and one to the head. John drops to his back, but it’s hard to tell if it’s a defensive move or the result of the knee dazing him. Mac works from sidemount and lands a couple elbows, but John gets back to his feet. John then grabs a leg and looks for a takedown, but Mac continues to connect on elbows and punches while John leaves himself unprotected. While shooting for a leg, John gives up his back, and Mac ties up one of his arms with his legs and peppers him with shots. John gets back to his feet, but we now see that he’s bleeding from his face, which may have resulted from one of Mac’s numerous elbows. “Big” John McCarthy then stops the fight when John loses his mouthpiece, and we can see a clear cut above his nose, as well as blood trickling out from inside it. The action restarts, John shoots again, and again, he gives up his back in the process. Mac locks in his hooks, throws some punches, and then sinks in the fight-ending rear-naked choke.
John’s forced to tap-out, and Mac — the first preliminary winner — becomes the first quarterfinal winner, as well.
Sober in victory, Mac thanks his team — coaches and fighters alike — for helping him get to the semifinals.
Did I mention I <3 Serra?
What a yawn.
Is it just me or are these guys pretty boring to watch? There isn't much drama (unless you count Matt Hughes crying in the corner).
What's up with the guys being upset that George didn't wake them up? I didn't realize he was their personal alarm clock. Maybe he can do their laundry and whatnot as well.
What a bunch of babies. It's so annoying.
Okay; now as far as the actual fight goes: it was short and sweet. Ended in the first round.
They both seemed very timid at first. Finally George landed a couple punches. He caught one good punch that dropped J-Rock and continued to finish him off until the ref called it.
I hate to see sore losers. J-Rock I'm talking to you and about you. During the post fight interview he's talking shit about Matt Serra's coaching and yelling at George. Hmmm you're talking about the winning coach on the winning team. Perhaps you should take note.
To quote Mr Dana White "You're as good as your last fight".
I don't have much time so I'll just get to it. I was SO annoyed with last nights episode. The fight was between Dan Barrera (Hughes' team) and Ben Saunders (from Serra's team). From the beginning I wanted Ben to win because he's on Serra's team. But then they started to interview Dan and I started to like the guy. He seems to be totally into training hard, and super enthusiastic. And such a funny personality, almost reminded me a little bit of Serra.
Then Dan's crazy wife called and he sort of lost points with me. I know you are saying it's not his fault his wife is crazy, but I have to blame someone.
During Dan's crazy-man training and sparring; he managed to fuck up his hand. Soft tissue damage or some shit like that. Not broken so we have a fight!
Okay, it's fight time. For the most part it was total slop. I mean Ben is like 4 or 5 inches taller than Dan and he STILL couldn't land shit for punches. And poor Dan was almost jogging around the cage. I kept yelling to the tv "upper cut, upper cut" but Dan wasn't listening to me. That fool.
They did manage to land a couple punches each. Don't ask me how. I think it was more like the ran into each other's fist more than anything.
I personally scored it:
Dan winning the 1st round.
Ben willing the 2nd round.
And I think everyone else did as well... except for the judges.
Just when you thought it'd go into sudden victory; the judges announced they had a winner.
By a majority decision win... Ben won!
Hughes flipped out! Which I don't blame him because well... he's a loser. No, I don't mean that in a "i'm a bitch" sort of way, I mean his team has been loosing all the bouts. The judges basically told him to stop his crying.
I loved it.
Go Team Serra!!!
Oh My!
Today, the California State Athletic Commission announced that Smith, who dropped a unanimous decision to Dewey Cooper last month at a Strikeforce show, has tested positive for anabolic agents with metabolites for both Nandrolone and Stanozolol. In addition to those steroids, the CSAC announced earlier this month that Smith also tested positive for cocaine and marijuana!
Smith becomes the first athlete in the state of California to test positive for anabolic agents and drugs of abuse at the same time.
With the two failed tests, Smith is now suspended a total of 21 months and fined a total of $4,000.
According to paperwork filed with the CSAC, Smith earned just $500 for the fight. Ummm I'm guessing the $500.00 he got for the fight even covered the cost of the drugs!
